If you want a Teal alternative, you are usually looking for a lower price or a different focus. As of 2026-09, Teal’s pricing page lists Teal+ at $13 every 7 days, $29 every 30 days or $79 every 90 days. Leepo Pro costs $6.99 a week, $19 a month or $45 a quarter. Both free plans include unlimited resumes and unlimited job tracking, and Teal+ has unlimited AI writing. Leepo costs less once you pay, and it is built around tailoring a resume for each application and nudging you to follow up when an application goes quiet. Below you’ll find a dated price table, a feature comparison, where each tool is stronger, and a way to test both on your own search.

Every Teal fact on this page comes from Teal’s own website and help center, read on September 24, 2026, and is linked so you can check it. Prices change, so confirm them on Teal’s site before you pay.

What Teal’s free plan includes

Teal’s free tier is generous. Its pricing page lists unlimited resumes and unlimited job tracking, 10 resume templates, the top 5 keywords from each job description, basic resume analysis, one email template per job stage and basic design settings. Teal’s free trial article adds that free members can track unlimited contacts and companies too.

The AI allowance is where the free plan is tight. Free members get 10 credits for AI resume bullets, 2 for professional summaries and 2 for cover letters, and Teal’s help center describes these credits as non-renewable. Once you use them, they don’t come back unless you upgrade. (Teal’s own comparison table lists 5 bullet credits rather than 10, so check the counter in your account.) The same comparison lists 2 AI interview practice sessions on the free plan and unlimited sessions on Teal+.

Teal doesn’t run a free trial that asks for a card. The free plan is how you try it, and the pricing page says no credit card is needed to start.

What a typical search costs on each

Compare the cost across the whole stretch you expect to be looking, not a single week. These figures are simple arithmetic from the published prices.

Length of searchTeal+Leepo Pro
About one month$29 (30-day plan)$19
Three months, paid monthly$87$57
Three months, quarterly plan$79$45

On either tool, the weekly plan only pays off for a short burst. Four weeks of Teal+ weekly costs $52, compared with $29 for its 30-day plan. Four weeks of Leepo weekly costs $27.96, compared with $19 for a month of Pro.

Canceling and refunds on Teal+

According to Teal’s cancellation policy, you cancel from your account settings, and the cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Canceling does not refund you on its own. You request a refund from Teal’s member support, within 2 calendar days of the billing period start on the weekly plan, 7 days on the monthly plan or 14 days on the quarterly plan, and Teal notes that a request does not guarantee a refund. If you are testing Teal+, set a calendar reminder for the day before it renews.

Where Leepo is stronger

  • A lower paid price. Leepo Pro is $19 a month against $29 for Teal’s 30-day plan, and $45 a quarter against $79 for its 90-day plan. If you know you will pay for a few months, the gap adds up.
  • Free credits that renew. Leepo’s free plan gives 3 credits every month. Teal’s free AI credits are a one-time allowance. Three a month is small, but they come back.
  • Tailoring from your real experience. Leepo’s Career Vault stores your projects, achievements and notes, with GitHub and LinkedIn import, so tailoring draws on things you actually did. You accept only the suggestions you want. Our guide on how to tailor your resume explains why that matters.
  • Help when applications go quiet. Leepo nudges you when an application has gone silent and reminds you to follow up. Optional, read-only Gmail sync lets recruiter emails about tracked applications update their status. Teal helps with follow-ups too, through email templates and scheduling, but none of the Teal pages we read mention syncing with your inbox.
  • Outreach drafted for the application. Both tools let you attach contacts to a job. Teal gives you stage-based email templates; Leepo drafts a referral ask, intro or follow-up for that application, and it opens in Gmail for you to send. For wording, see how to ask for a referral.
  • Fixed stops in autofill. Teal’s autofill page says you can review and edit answers before you submit. Leepo Companion makes two stops fixed: you always press Submit yourself, and questions about gender, veteran status, disability and salary always pause for you to answer.

When Teal might suit you

  • More templates on the free plan. Unlimited resumes, job tracking and contacts cost nothing on Teal, and its free plan includes 10 resume templates. Leepo’s free plan also tracks unlimited applications and resumes, but it has only the Standard look. If you want a choice of templates without paying anything, Teal’s free tier goes further.
  • Unlimited AI on the paid plan. Teal+ has no cap on AI bullets, summaries or cover letters. Leepo Pro includes 80 credits a month, under fair use.
  • Resume design control. Teal’s Design Mode lets you adjust layout, fonts, spacing and accent color, and Teal+ opens its full template library.
  • Saving jobs while you browse. Teal’s extension bookmarks a posting straight from a job board. With Leepo, you paste the job link to import it.
  • A wide set of extras. Teal’s site offers AI interview practice, a LinkedIn profile review, a job board and many single-purpose resume tools. On its pricing page, Teal says it has over 4 million users.

Looking for a Teal resume builder alternative?

Some people use Teal mainly for its resume builder. If that is you, judge any alternative on four things: does it tailor to one specific posting, does it show which keywords you are missing, does it keep every line true to your experience, and can you afford a version for every application you send. The same checks apply to a CV, which is what a résumé is usually called in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand.

Leepo covers those with the ATS fit score, a tailored resume for each application and templates you can switch between. Keep in mind that its free plan includes 3 AI credits a month and the Standard look only, so tailoring for many jobs needs Pro. Teal lets free members create and export unlimited resumes, while unlimited AI help and the full keyword list come with Teal+. Teal’s Job Matcher also marks which job keywords your resume includes or misses, on the free plan as well as on Teal+.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Teal if

  • You want to stay on a free plan and still choose between resume templates.
  • You lean heavily on AI writing and want it unlimited.
  • You care about fine control over how your resume looks.
  • You like saving postings in one click while you browse job boards.

Choose Leepo if

  • You expect to pay for a few months and want the lower price.
  • You tailor every application and want suggestions drawn from your own saved experience, accepting only the ones you want.
  • Applications tend to go quiet on you and you want nudges and follow-up reminders.
  • You ask for referrals and want outreach drafts kept with each application.
  • You want autofill that always stops for sensitive questions and leaves Submit to you.

How to test both in one week

You don’t need to take anyone’s word for it, including ours. Both free plans cover a small side-by-side test.

  1. Pick three live postings you genuinely want to apply for.
  2. In Teal, save all three and note the keywords and match score for each.
  3. In Leepo, paste the same three links and run the ATS fit score on each.
  4. Tailor one resume for your top posting in each tool. Count how many suggestions you had to reject because they weren’t true or didn’t sound like you.
  5. Draft one follow-up or referral message in each tool and see which gets you closer to sending it.
  6. Fill in the scorecard below for each tool, then decide.

Match or fit score before edits:
Missing keywords it found that I really have:
Suggestions I rejected because they weren’t accurate:

If you are also weighing a dedicated tracker, our Huntr alternative comparison uses the same approach. And if Leepo looks like the better fit, you can start free at leepo.ai and move to Pro when you want your applications updated for you or more than 3 credits a month.
