If you want a Huntr alternative that does more for less, Leepo Pro costs $19 a month, compared with $40 a month for Huntr Pro billed monthly, as of 2026-09. For about half the price, Leepo tailors a resume for every job from your own experience, scores each job’s fit, autofills applications on any career site, helps you reach the right person and reminds you when an application goes quiet. Both free plans track jobs (Huntr’s up to 100, Leepo’s with no limit), so if a free tracker is all you need, either is a reasonable pick. Below: a dated price table, a feature comparison, and a short test to run on both.

A note on names: this page is about the Huntr job tracker at huntr.co, not the unrelated AI security bug-bounty platform at huntr.com. Every Huntr fact below comes from Huntr’s own website, read on 2026-09-24 and linked where it appears. Prices change, so check the live page before you buy.

What a real job search costs on each

Job searches rarely fit neatly into one billing cycle. Here is what each tool costs over common search lengths, using the cheapest option each one lists for that period:

  • One focused week: $6.99 on Leepo’s weekly plan. Huntr lists no weekly plan, so its shortest paid option is one month at $40.
  • One month: $19 on Leepo, $40 on Huntr.
  • Three months: $45 on Leepo’s quarterly plan, $90 on Huntr’s quarterly plan.
  • Six months: $90 on Leepo (two quarters), $160 on Huntr’s 6-month plan.

The honest caveat: Huntr Pro includes unlimited AI use, while Leepo Pro includes 80 credits a month for AI features, under fair use. If you plan to generate AI content for a very large number of applications every month, compare the work you would actually do, not just the sticker price.

What Huntr does well

  • A generous free plan. Up to 100 tracked jobs, unlimited base resumes, every template, unlimited autofills and unlimited contacts, all free. Leepo’s free plan also tracks without a limit, but Huntr’s includes every template, where Leepo’s has only the Standard look.
  • A widely reviewed Chrome extension. Huntr’s homepage says its Chrome extension has over 1.1k reviews and a 4.9-star rating, and that more than 500,000 job seekers have used Huntr. The extension saves job details, highlights keywords on postings that you can add to your resume, and autofills applications. Huntr’s autofill page says it works on thousands of sites, including LinkedIn, Indeed and employer websites.
  • Mobile apps. Huntr’s mobile page links to apps on the App Store and Google Play for browsing and saving jobs on the go.
  • Unlimited AI on Pro. Pro covers unlimited AI resume generations, tailored resumes, cover letters and resume reviews for one flat price, so there is nothing to count.
  • A deep tracker. The job tracker page describes a drag-and-drop Kanban board, a timeline of your search, a map of employer locations and job search metrics. Its interview tracker keeps dates, private notes and documents for each role.
  • Follow-up planning and email templates. Huntr’s Activities work as a job search to-do list with dates, where you can book follow-up and thank-you emails. Its AI email templates draft follow-ups, thank-you notes and offer replies that you copy into your own email.
  • Easy data export. According to Huntr’s help center, Download My Data in account settings gives you a ZIP of CSV files covering jobs, activities, profile and contacts.
  • Options for organizations. The pricing page also points to Huntr products for bootcamps, university career centers, career coaches, workforce development and outplacement. If your coach or school already uses Huntr, that shared setup matters.

Where Leepo is stronger

  • Price for AI features. AI tailoring, fit scores, cover letters and interview prep are available on a $19 monthly plan, or $6.99 for a single focused week.
  • Starting from any link. Paste any job link, from LinkedIn, a company careers page and more, and Leepo imports the role, the company and, when the posting lists it, the salary.
  • Tailoring from your real experience. Both tools score your resume against a posting and let you accept suggestions one at a time; Huntr’s resume tailor lets you accept, tweak or ignore each one. Leepo’s difference is the source: you save projects, achievements and notes in a Career Vault, with GitHub and LinkedIn import, and tailoring draws on that record. The ATS fit score shows matched and missing keywords for one job.
  • Nudges when an application goes quiet. In Huntr you book follow-ups as activities yourself. Leepo flags applications that have gone quiet and reminds you when a follow-up is due.
  • Finding the person, not just storing them. Huntr’s contact tracker stores details for recruiters, hiring managers and interviewers, along with the job you applied to. Leepo starts a step earlier: it helps you find recruiters or hiring managers, save them against an application, and draft referral asks, intros and follow-ups that open in Gmail for you to send.
  • Optional Gmail sync. If you connect it, Leepo’s read-only Gmail sync picks up recruiter emails about applications you track and updates their status.
  • Autofill that stops for you. The Leepo Companion Chrome extension fills employer application forms from your saved answers and attaches your resume. You review everything and press Submit yourself, and sensitive questions such as gender, veteran status, disability and salary always pause for your answer.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Huntr if…

  • You want every resume template on a free plan, where Leepo’s free plan has only the Standard look.
  • You find and save most jobs on your phone and want a native iOS or Android app.
  • You will use AI heavily every month and prefer one flat price with no credits to count.
  • Your career coach, bootcamp or university career center already works with you in Huntr.
  • You want a widely reviewed extension that autofills applications on thousands of sites.

Choose Leepo if…

  • You want AI tailoring and fit scores for $19 a month, or for $6.99 during one intense week.
  • You want each tailored resume drawn from a saved record of your real projects and results.
  • Your search runs on referrals and follow-ups, and you want help finding the right person and drafting the message.
  • You want to know when an application has gone quiet instead of noticing weeks later.
  • You want autofill that always stops on sensitive questions and never submits for you.

If you are also weighing Teal, our Teal alternative comparison uses the same approach. And if you are still deciding whether you need a dedicated tool at all, start with how to track job applications.

A 30-minute test to run on both tools

Feature lists only go so far. The quickest way to decide is to run the same real postings through each tool and compare what you end up with, using the checklist below. Both tools hold some features back for paid plans. For a full test of Leepo, the 7-day free trial lets you try everything in Pro, and you can cancel before it charges.

Job tool test: same three postings, both tools

1. Pick three live postings you would really apply to: one close match, one stretch role, one in a different industry.

2. Save each posting to the tracker. Note how much you had to type by hand.

3. Score your resume against each one. Write down the missing keywords each tool finds.

4. Tailor for the stretch role. Check every suggested line: could you explain it in an interview?

5. Start one real application with the autofill. Note what it filled, what it missed and what it asked you to review.

6. Find one person at the close-match company and draft a short, specific message to them.

7. Add up the cost of the plan you would actually need for the length of your search.

For step 4, our guide on how to tailor your resume shows what a good tailored line looks like, and how to ask for a referral has message templates for step 6. If you are in the UK, Ireland or New Zealand, where a résumé is called a CV, the test works the same way with your CV.

How to switch from Huntr to Leepo

  1. Export your Huntr data. Use Download My Data in your Huntr account settings and keep the CSV files as your record of past applications.
  2. Pick what is still live. Closed roles can stay in the spreadsheet; move only applications still in play.
  3. Paste each live job link into Leepo. The role, company and listed salary come in with it. Set each one to its current stage, such as applied or interviewing.
  4. Fill your Career Vault. Add projects, achievements and notes, or import from GitHub and LinkedIn, so the next tailored resume draws on your full record.
  5. Move the contacts that matter. Save each recruiter or hiring manager against the application they belong to, so follow-ups have a home.
  6. Connect Gmail if you want. Read-only Gmail sync is optional; it keeps statuses current from recruiter emails about the applications you track.
  7. Cancel Huntr Pro when you are ready. Per Huntr’s FAQ, Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for, and your data stays in your account.

Leepo’s free plan lets you try the tracker, the fit score and tailoring on a few real applications, and the free trial gives you Pro for 7 days, and you can cancel any time. When you want to try it, sign up at leepo.ai and paste your first job link.
